Cowra Regional Art Gallery presents Real to Reel: The Craft Film Festival!

An exciting film festival from the UK, dedicated to craft and the moving image, giving a platform to a wealth of films that explore themes of making, makers, materials and process. The films screened are selected by a Crafts Council (UK) committee, from an open international call for submissions. The 33 films selected in 2019 and programmed across two sessions range from 30 seconds to 14 minutes, and feature three films from Australia.

Discover a world in miniature, performance that intertwines clay and dance, the beneficial impact of creativity on health, an outdoor gym that makes bread, animation celebrating the special role that dogs play in remote community life and documentaries about making, from giant pots to replica birds’ eggs, and more, in this diverse range of shorts.

Date: Friday, 1 November 2019
Venue: Cowra Civic Centre – Theatrette, cnr Darling Street and Bartlett Ave
Time: 6.30pm–9pm (two sessions with an interval at 7.30pm)
Cost: $30pp and $25pp – Students and Friends of the Gallery (student concession card/ Friends membership card must be shown at the door).

Real to Reel: The Craft Film Festival is produced by the Crafts Council UK and Crafts magazine. Its tour to Australia is courtesy of Maker&Smith. The Cowra Regional Art Gallery screening is in partnership with the Australian Design Centre, Sydney.
