  • Entries for the 2021 Calleen Art Award are now open. The Calleen Art Award is an acquisitive painting prize in any subject and style. The award was founded in 1977 by Mrs Patricia Fagan OAM and is made possible by the generous support of the Calleen Trust.

The winner of the Calleen Art Award 2021 will receive $25,000 and the winning artwork will join the Calleen Collection at the Cowra Regional Art Gallery. An entered artwork must be an original and unaided painting by the artist in any painting medium including oil paint, acrylic or watercolour and produced in the last two (2) years prior to the closing date (refer to the conditions of entry for more information).

A non-acquisitive People’s Choice Award of $1,000 is awarded at the end of the exhibition courtesy of the Friends of the Gallery.

The Calleen Art Award is open to artists living and working in Australia (over 18 years). All entries submitted will be presented to a panel of art professionals to select the shortlist of finalists for exhibition. An independent guest judge is invited to select the winner of the Calleen Art Award from the finalists.

The announcement of the Calleen Art Award 2021 winner will be made at the exhibition opening of finalists on Saturday 2 October 2021. The Calleen Art Award is an acquisitive prize and the winning artwork for 2021 will become part of the splendid Calleen Collection at the Cowra Regional Art Gallery.
